Poor Sydney broke out in major hives last week that covered her arms and legs. She was such a trooper as we looked for a remedy. We got some stuff at the farmacia but it could only be applied 3 times a day. The rest of the day it would still itch-so we looked up home remedies to relieve the itch. We came up with some good stuff!
Here she is enjoying a homemade popsicle and getting ready for her first remedy...
Oh poor thing! "My legs are so horrible!" she said.
Our first idea was an oatmeal bath. It was cold but it felt great! It wasn't itchy with this stuff on. It was oatmeal and cornstarch mixed into a paste. We did this two times-
she liked getting all goopy.
We finished by washing it off with a bath in cornstarch water.
I tell ya- cornstarch is the best home-remedy for everything! You got diaper rash? Use cornstarch. You got a heat rash? Use cornstarch. You got hives? Cornstarch! We ended up just mixing cornstarch and water, lathering her up like the oatmeal, and then we didnt have the mess and she could just leave it on under her clothes with no need to wash. It was the best thing ever! I love cornstarch!
